Update: Boy Boy is doing well at the clinic. His wound is gradually healing but it is likely going to be a slow recovery. He gets daily wound cleaning and we hope this helps him get better over time. The size of the wound area is also shrinking and we believe he will be ready for discharge soon!
Boy Boy is a street dog in the Eastern part of Singapore. His caregiver and feeder Alice recently discovered he had several wounds on his neck, ears and eyes. It was suspected to be a fight on the streets, which is a common problem when females are on heat. That is why sterilization is key to controlling the population and more importantly avoiding fights on the streets so we do not end up with maggot wounds.
Upon receiving Alice’s text, we headed down to the site and set up a structure of which we manage to get hold of Boy Boy. His wounds were far worse than we imagine and he is currently receiving treatment at Animal World Veterinary. If we had not gotten hold of him, it would be likely Boy Boy dies of a festering maggot wound on the streets. We cannot imagine his final days as a street dog as one of immense pain and suffering. Boy Boy will need about 2 weeks of hospital care to recover. We will also ensure he is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. We need help to cover Boy Boy’s medical care and help his wounds heal. Please support Boy Boy on his road to recovery. |
Do note that should funds raised exceed the final medical bill, the surplus will be utilised for animals under our community care program that need assistance.
