CAS COMMUNITY CARE
What does CAS Community Care do?
We work with industry professionals to identify people or families in need.
We then help provide assistance to ensure both the pet and people are looked after.
This could be in the form of animal medical assistance, transport for vet visits, or even something as simple as helping an owner and their pet get out for a daily walk. Here are some of the people who are involved:
Veterinarians who want to find help for their less fortunate clients
Welfare organisations who identify individuals who respond better with animals.
We provide access and assistance for local vet students who need hands on experience.
Please note our CCC programme is still in its pilot stage and will only launch when we have enough resources. If you'd like to see this become a reality, please write in to [email protected] to help!

Pets are in all our communities
People often we think we just help animals but the reality is, behind every animal we help there is a person or some people involved. All walks of life....
We work with elderly pet lovers, young children, troubled teenagers, people with disabilities, the less fortunate. Our work travels without barriers through all of Singapore's communites. |
Animals are good for us!
The bond between pets and people is powerful. Numerous studies show that pet ownership is associated with better overall physical and psychological health. People with pets have better cardiovascular health, are sick less often, and visit their doctor less frequently than non-owners. Psychologically, pets help their owners with loneliness, depression, and anxiety. They also provide companionship, a sense of purpose, and help their owners handle stress more effectively. CAS hopes to help our most vulnerable community members keep this important relationship in their lives for as long as possible. |

Our recent Community Cases
Max & Aunty (closed: thank you for your support)
Update: Max's skin condition has pretty much healed up completely. He still requires weekly medicated showers. Thanks to the commitment of Marcus, a volunteer, Max coat is looking lovely! The funds raised will not only cover Max bill but also help us offer aunty a little assistance through much needed groceries! Read more..... .Recently, we visited a Sheltie in need of community care. 12yr old Max lives with his owner, a 75 yr old aunty who is financially unable to properly care for him. She's also getting old and can't bend down easily to bathe him. Max is in need of medical treatment and other necessities, he does not have a collar or leash and could probably do with a bed. Max went to the vet on Monday, he has chronic demodex that has been flaring up on and off for about a year. He is currently taking unmarked antibiotics and using a antiseptic wash + anti itch cream. CAS volunteers will assist with taking Max to the vet and also ensure we help with one medicated shower a week. We hope to be able to continue to support Max road to recovery. We welcome support for Max diet, necessities and most importantly his medical care. |
Mdm Kang and Girl Girl (appeal closed: thank you)
Thank you so much for your very kind donations. We are closing the appeal for Mdm Kang and Girl Girl. Your generosity has greatly helped our efforts in providing medical aid to Girl Girl and a NTUC food voucher worth $200 to Mdm Kang. Should funds raised exceed the final medical & food bill, the surplus will be utilised for other Community Care recipients in need. Thank you for helping us help not only an animal in need but also the people in our community who love animals as much as we do. To find out more about the CAS Community Care projects, visit http://www.causesforanimals.com/community-care-work.html. If you know of anyone in your community who loves their pet dearly and needs some help with its medical care or even daily needs or necessities, please email us at [email protected]. We hope to make a difference in the lives of animals and our community each step of the way! Thank you for joining us on our path towards a better place for animals in Singapore! Background: Girl Girl was dumped outside Mdm Kang's home years ago. Mdm Kang used to be able to manage the care Girl Girl needed. Sadly, Mdm Kang was struck with cancer in the year 2013. She is financially drained and she uses her minimal savings for feeding of street cats and dogs. Mdm Kang is no longer the fit and strong lady we once knew but her spirit and love for stray animals is not broken. When she spoke to us, she eventually broken down in tears and told us her greatest worry if she passed on was Girl Girl. She begged us to help Girl Girl get better. We want to do all we can to support Girl Girl and Mdm Kang on their road to recovery. Life isn't easy but every battle can be won. Will you join us and Mdm Kang and Girl Girl in winning this battle? We welcome contributions in kind for Girl Girl and Mdm Kang too as life goes on for the ladies and we just want to make it a little special. We want them to know they are loved. Will you help us help them? With your help, we have enough to pay for Girl Girl's vet bill. Mdm Kang is also getting a gift from our generous donors. Thank you so much. (Any donations left after Girl Girl's bill is paid will be used to help other community care cases or animals in need.) |
