GONE TO GOOD HOMES (Recent Adoptions)
ARTHOS
Arthos has found a home after 3 long years with us! Arthos was originally adopted as a puppy from us. Without compulsory training classes previously, Arthos was not well socialised or managed and to make matters worse, his family went on to adopt a second dog in spite of not being able to manage one. They then hired a trainer who used aversive methods on the poor lad who went on to worsen in behavior. When people ask why we are so picky about our adopters and terms like training, it is precisely because of such awful experiences. Arthos went on 3 home stays over the years but never made it as a permanent family member due to his quirks. We also paid for 3 wonderful positive trainers but none of the adopters could manage. Earlier this year, we received a text from Leonard, keen to meet Arthos. We were rather pessimistic about how far things could go but hey, never give up right? Leonard spent about 8 weekends walking Arthos at the shelter and working with him ever so patiently. Arthos still has his moments but Leonard has taken it all under his stride and says Arthos has been a pure joy. The duo enjoy tonnes of walks and are now very popular in their neighbourhood as well. Thank you Leonard for the love, time and patience with Arthos Thank you for restoring our faith in the human race! |
KIT & BELLE
Kit and Belle are home - together! Formerly known as Blackie and Dou, they were part of a colony in Gul we met as part our TNR programme for cats. CAS has limited shelter space and it is not possible for us to house cats on site. Our hope of making their lives better is only possible with the help of our amazing fosters who always step up to take them on while they await their forever home. Diana and her family were looking to adopt after their cats had passed on from old age. They decided to welcome not just one but two cats. Kit took a while to remember Belle as they went to different fosters. It wasn’t long before they became best of friends and they now spend their time having late night parties while their family is asleep. Thank you for choosing to adopt and making a difference to the lives of our street cats! |
WILLOW
Willow has found a home with Naomi and Chongxian! Willow was a street dog from the Northern area of Singapore. She was born to a farm area and was part of our TNRM efforts in the area. Willow had a pretty good temperament and was generally a quirky little girl with a fantastic personality. We knew Willow deserved a home off our streets and worked hard to find her one. Willow eventually found the perfect match with Naomi and Chongxian. They were looking for a quirky doggie to join their home and were also very invested in training and ensuring Willow would receive lots of guidance in order to become a good canine citizen. We would like to thank Naomi and Chongxian for giving a street dog a home of her own! |
SQUASH
Squash has found a home with the amazing Sandee and Daniel! Squash was rescued from a drain in a wetland in the East. If it had rained that day, Squash would have been washed away with the storm. Thankfully, the skys did not pour that day and Squash was picked up all in the nick of time. Squash is a little bundle of energy but having had a Beagle for more than a decade, Sandee and Daniel knew full well the work it would take with a young puppy. We are very grateful to them for adopting Squash and giving her a home off our streets. Sandee and Daniel continue to support our work by walking dogs at CAS on Sunday afternoons. We are indeed blessed to have such awesome folks who share the same love for street animals as we do. We could not have asked for better pawrents for cheeky little Squash! |
