Due to Singapore’s small land mass, shelters in Singapore are often facing space constraints. This means the dogs and cats live in close proximity to one another in facilities. New dogs and cats are rescued on a daily basis and that also means existing dogs become susceptible to diseases if not already protected against them.
Out in the streets, stray dogs and community cats have to fend for themselves and are equally prone to diseases that can easily be prevented with a vaccine. The current most immediate, cost-friendly solution is to keep both street and shelter animals healthy by vaccinating them.
Vaccination is an $18-a-pop solution that enables each vaccinated animal to stay healthy for the next 365 days. During that time, they are kept immunized against contagious, deadly diseases like distemper and parvovirus. The $18 cost also includes a dewormer for each dog and cat, ensuring none dies eaten out from the inside by hookworms.
Vaccinating every animal is a logistical nightmare and a tedious process for just a single organization alone. As such, Causes for Animals (Singapore) is banding together with other shelters for the Singapore AWG Annual Vaccination Drive 2023.
Our Vaccine Drive also covers rabbits, as well as individual rescuers. We hope to keep these animals in foster homes & shelters happy & healthy too!
